MICROPTIC S.L., company based in Barcelona, Spain, is a leading player in the field of research, design, development, sale, installation and service of in-vitro diagnostic systems. Using Artificial Intelligence technology, we are specialized in semen analysis, both human and animal. It was first established in 1989 with the name of MICROPTIC SCP and change to MICROPTIC SL in 2001. Since its creation it was focused on the software development for image analysis, having a group of Computer Engineers and Biologists collaborating in the project to create the high quality software, adapted to user´s needs. The company was mainly having all their activity in Spain until 2002, when the Export Department was created, allowing the company to expand it. MICROPTIC is ISO 13845 certified since 2013 and licensed to manufacture IVD products by the Competent Spanish Authority, AEMPS (Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios), since 2007. The main goal of our business is to produce high quality products that are continuously improved, integrating the last innovative technology available. As an example, our main product Computer Aided Semen Analysis system: Sperm Class Analyzer® – SCA®, whose evolution, based in users feedback and collaboration with research centres worldwide, has been constant since 1997. Also the SCA SCOPE, the first totally automated device for human semen assessment, launched in 2019. Moreover, MICROPTIC has a R&D department that creates robotic systems to automate microscopic analysis using artificial intelligence (machine learning (ML) and computer vision).
